Elected vs. Appointed Positions in SGA
The Student Government Association (SGA) has two main types of positions: elected and appointed. Understanding the difference between these roles is important for all students.
Elected Positions: Elected positions are filled through a voting process. In the fall semester, students can run for these positions, and then their peers can vote to choose who will serve. This process gives students a say in who represents them and makes decisions on their behalf.
Appointed Positions: Appointed positions are filled by students submitting applications, and elected members make assignments based on the application details. This method allows SGA members to select individuals with specific skills or experience that can benefit the organization.

Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.25 (3.0 or higher will be considered) for elected positions
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (2.7 or higher will be considered) for appointed positions

Filling Open Positions
If any position becomes open during the year, there is a clear method to fill it. The SGA faculty advisor will announce the opening and provide information on how interested students can apply or be considered for the role. Then the elected members will select the candidates to fill the openings. This ensures that all positions are filled with qualified individuals who want to contribute.
